EUICC Cine Night (Francophonie Film Festival): Le Doulos

The EU Information and Cultural Centre in cooperation with the French Embassy in Kosovo invites you for a screening of film “Le Doulos”, a 1963 French crime film written and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, adapted from the novel of the same name by Pierre Lesou.
The film is part of the events of the “Semaines de la Francophonie” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo, in cooperation with embassies and diplomatic representations of Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic as well as the Alliance Française of Pristina. This year’s Francophonie movie theme is thriller.
The film will be followed by a small cocktail at the EUICC.
Synopsis: Maurice Faugel, just released from prison after serving a six-year sentence, meets a friend, Gilbert, who is appraising the value of jewels from a recent heist. Maurice is planning a robbery the next day with two accomplices, Silien and Rémy. Maurice kills Gilbert with Gilbert’s own gun and steals the jewels as well as a large sum of money.
