Në ditët e sotit, të ngulfatur nga plastika, bukuria e artit live kurrë nuk ka qenë më e dashur se sa që është tash. Nga Teatri në Vallëzim, nga Klasika në Jazz.

Këtë herë, Kult____Urë ka vendos ta festoj Jazz-in dhe pasurinë artistike të tij.

Jazz-i është i lidhur ngushtë me jetë. Për me mbijetu, adaptohet. Për me dal në pah, improvizon. Bukuria e improvizimit është sinonim i Jazz-it. Kurrë nuk e din se çka ka mbas. Disa plus e definojnë si performanca më e paparashikueshme e artit që ekziston. Tingujt e instrumenteve të qojnë në vende që s’ke qenë kurrë më parë.

Kult_____Urë është krenarë të mikëpres edicionin e parë të Prishtina Jazz Week, të udhëhequr nga muzicienti i njohur Kosovar Nesim Maxhuni, mbështetur nga Komuna e Prishtinës.

Prishtina Jazz Week parasheh tre netë të muzikës Jazz, përfshirë dy bende të mëdha nga SHBA dhe Britania e Madhe, dhe vetë Nesim Maxhuni.

Doubtless i Jure Pukl është një projekt i ri që vjen në CD dhe Vinyl në mbarë botën në Whirlwind Records nga Londra, në Maj 2018. Fillimisht, Melissa Aldana luan në rekord së bashku me Jure, Joe dhe Gregory. Për koncertin e Prishtinës, Jure do të zëvendësojë saksofonin e Aldannës, me borinë e luajtur nga I madhi Filip Dizaki. Vetë emri tashmë tregon se çfarë është ky grup: besimi, barazia, respekti, me theks mbi transparencën dhe lirinë. Muzikë plot energji, kthesa, emocione dhe ngjyra.

Joe Sanders; Infinity është një koleksion i individëve me mendje të njëjtë të cilët mishërojnë nocionin e lirisë dhe përjetësisë, ndërsa në të njëjtën kohë mbajnë qëndrueshmërinë ndaj historisë dhe momentit aktual të xhazit. Në shtator të vitit 2017 Joe lëshoi ​​albumin e tij të dytë me titull “Humanity”; titulli, imazhet dhe muzika punojnë në marrëdhënie për të ndriçuar idenë e shikimit dhe trajtimit të njëri-tjetrit si njerëzor, pavarësisht nga ngjyra, besimi ose feja.

Projekti ‘Homecoming’ i Nesim Maxhuni është një reflektim i jetës së Maxhuni dhe përvojat që e kanë përcaktuar udhëtimin e tij mbi këtë tokë. Kënga ‘Homecoming’, nga e cila albumi merr emrin e saj, i është kushtuar ndjenjës së Maxhunit kur u kthye në Kosovë pas luftës për të gjetur një vend të shkatërruar, por edhe pjellor për shpresë dhe jetë të re. Albumi u regjistrua në 2016 në Prishtinë dhe përfshin bashkëpunimin e muzikantëve të shquar të xhazit nga skena muzikore e xhazit të Nju Jorkut me muzikantët e xhazit nga Kosova dhe nga rajoni. Duke mundësuar bashkëpunime të tilla, projekti shërbeu për të ndërtuar ura të mbështetjes së ndërsjellë dhe bashkëpunimit midis muzikantëve kosovarë nga njëra anë dhe muzikantëve globalë nga ana tjetër, ndërkohë që grupi i muzikantëve ndërkombëtarë të xhazit që vijnë për të performuar si pjesë e ‘Winter Prishtina Java Jazz ‘e themeluar nga Maxhuni janë dëshmi se vepra të tilla bashkëpunuese mund të sjellin rezultate konkrete.

Prishtina Jazz Week do të mbahet në amfiteatrin e ASK-së në zemër të qytetit.

Edicioni i pare i festivalit është njëra nga shumë festivalet e planifikuara në të ardhmën, ku zemrat e fansave të Jazz dhe të rinjëve poashtu, do bashkohen për një javë me një pasuri plotë tinguj të paparashikueshëm, që refuzon të largohet nga froni si shtresa më e lartë e muzikës botërore.

Formimi i Kult____Urë ka ardhë si rezultat i mungesës së origjinalitetit në sipërfaqen e skenës argëtuese në Prishtinë. Jo se ka mungesë të thellësisë. As që ka mungesë të kërkesës. Përkundrazi.

Me fjalë tjera, për me gjetë origjinalitet, duhet me gërmu thellë në qytet për me u habitë për të mirë.

PRISHTINA WINTER JAZZ WEEK

In today’s world, suffocated by plastic, the beauty of live art has never been more cherished than it is now. From the Theatre to dance, from the Classic to Jazz.

This time around, Kult____Urë has decided to celebrate Jazz and its artistic richness.

Jazz is rooted and intertwined with life. To survive, it adapts. To stand out, it improvises. The beauty of improvisation is a synonym of Jazz. You never know what’s next. Some even define it as the most unpredictable and visceral performance art that exists. The sounds of the instruments carry you to places you have never been before.

Kult____Urë is proud to host the first edition of Prishtina Jazz Week, led by renowned Kosovar percusionist Mr. Nesim Maxhuni, supported by the Municipality of Prishtina.

Prishtina Jazz Week oversees three nights of Jazz Music, involving two major bands from the US and UK, and our very own Nesim Maxhuni.

Jure Pukl’s Doubtless is a new project coming out on CD and Vinyl worldwide on Whirlwind Recordings from London in May 2018. Originally, Melissa Aldana plays on the record alongside Jure, Joe and Gregory. For the Prishtina concert, Jure will substitute Aldanna’s saxophone, with the trumpet played by the great Philip Dizack. The name itself already indicates what this band is all about: trust, equality, respect and openness, an emphasis on transparency and freedom. Music full of energy, turns, emotions and colors.

Joe Sanders; Infinity is a collection of like-minded individuals whom embody the notion of freedom and eternity while simultaneously holding steadfast to the history and the present moment of jazz. In September of 2017 Joe released his sophomore album entitled Humanity, the title, imagery and music work in relationship to illuminate the idea of seeing and treating each other as human regardless of color, creed or religion.

Nesim Maxhuni’s ‘Homecoming’ project is a reflection of Maxhuni’s life and the experiences that have defined his journey upon this earth. The ‘Homecoming’ song, from which the album takes its name, is dedicated to Maxhuni’s feeling when he returned to Kosovo after the war to find a place destroyed, but also fertile for hope and new life. The album was recorded in 2016 in Prishtina and includes the collaboration of prominent jazz musicians from New York’s jazz music scene with jazz musicians from Kosovo and from the region. By enabling such collaborations, the project served to build bridges of mutual support and cooperation between Kosovar musicians on the one hand, and global musicians on the other, while the line-up of international jazz musicians coming to perform as part of the ‘Prishtina Winter Jazz Week’ established by Maxhuni are proof that such collaborative works can bring about concrete results.

Prishtina Jazz Week will take place at the ASK amphitheater at the heart of the city.

The first edition of the festival is one of many planned in the coming future, where the hearts of Jazz fans and young-ins as well, will unite for a Week full of unexpected sounds of A richness, refusing to leave its throne as the top tier music of the world.

The formation of Kult____Urë came as a result of a lack of originality at the surface of the entertainment scene in Prishtina. Not that there is a lack of depth. Nor that there is a lack of demand. On the contrary.

In other words, to surf for originality, you have to dig into the city to be amazed.

Kult____Urë has set a mission. We are marching on.
