DESCRIPTION:software freedom kosova conference\n4 – 7 April 2019 in prishtina \nSFK | Software Freedom Kosova is the annual international conference held in Kosovo organized to promote free/libre open source software\, free culture and open knowledge\, now in its 8th edition and 10th anniversary (yaaay!). \nIt is organized by FLOSSK\, a non governmental\, not for profit organization\, dedicated to promotion of software freedom and related philosophies. Almost all sessions will be held in English. \nEntry is free\, thanks to our partners and supporters\, but you have to register in advance. Seating is first-come\, first-served! \nProgram \nWe have compiled a diverse program of topics of interest of workshops held in the mornings and talks held in the afternoon\, as well as socializing time so you get exposure time to our speakers. \nWe will start with School of FLOSS at Termokiss on Thursday morning\, an intro level series of workshops aimed at beginners covering topics from HTML to Wikipedia editing. We will formally open the conference on Thursday evening with registration\, a panel discussion\, cocktail and a movie. Friday and Saturday will be two full days. In the mornings\, we will hold hand-on workshops at Kino ARMATA and at the National Library of Kosovo. DESCRIPTION:[English Below]\nI bëjmë thirrje të gjithë gazetarëve\, redaksive dhe qytetarëve të na bashkohen në fushatën tonë\, Jo Pyetje Pa Përgjigje. \nK2.0 bashkë me gazetarë nga 10 organizata mediale\, kanë monitoruar konferencat për shtyp të Kryeministrit Ramush Haradinaj\, Presidentit Hashim Thaçi\, Kryesisë së Kuvendit të Kosovës\, Policisë dhe Zyrës së Prokurorit. \nPër pesë muaj i monitoruam 52 nga 62 konferenca formale për shtyp që u mbajtën nga këto institucione. Tetë prej tyre nuk ishin të hapura për pyetje. Këto konferenca\, në në të cilat nuk u lejuan pyetjet\, i trajtuan disa çështje të ndjeshme si greva e mësuesve e deri tek taksa 100 përqindëshe mbi produktet serbe. \nGjatë kësaj periudhe\, këto institucione iu drejtuan publikut në më shumë se 1\,000 postime në Facebook nëpërmjet faqeve zyrtare. Kjo do të thotë se për çdo konferencë për shtyp të mbajtur ishin 16 postime në Facebook. \nPër dekada\, konferencat për shtyp kanë shërbyer si një forum ku politikanët i janë ekspozuar pyetjeve të papritura para mediave. Janë hapësirë ku mund të kërkohen përgjigje kyçe\, të ekspozohen politikanët\, të kërkohet llogari prej tyre në publik dhe të shtrohen pyetjet jetike që shpeshherë mbesin pa përgjigje në komunikime me email dhe telefon. \nNëpërmjet punës sonë monitoruese dhe bisedave me gazetarët\, ne e kemi parë se si kjo vegël shumë e rëndësishme po shpërfillet jo vetëm nga politikanët\, por edhe nga zyrtarët për shtyp në institucione publike. E kjo\, duhet të ndryshojë. \nNë Ditën Botërore të Lirisë së Shtypit\, më 3 maj në orën 13:00\, ejani në lansimin e “Jo Pyetje Pa Përgjigje” në oborrin e K2.0. Gazetarë\, punëtorë të mediave dhe ata/ato për të cilët ne punojmë\, qytetarët\, të gjithë janë të ftuar të marrin pjesë në këtë ngjarje! \nAty do të na bashkohen: \nBesa Luci — kryeredaktore në Kosovo 2.0\nTaulant Osmani — gazetar në BIRN / anëtar i ekipit hulumtues\nSaranda Ramaj — gazetare në Koha / anëtare e ekipit hulumtues\nKreshnik Gashi — gazetar hulumtues / moderator në Drejtësia në Kosovë \nDiskutimi do të moderohet nga Aurela Kadriu\, autore e hulumtimit \nDo të ketë përkthim shqip/anglisht.\nKjo ngjarje realizohet me mbështetjen e Ambasadës së Mbretërisë së Holandës në Kosovë.\n————\nWe are calling upon all journalists\, newsrooms and citizens to join us in our effort\, Jo Pyetje Pa Përgjigje (No Questions Without Answers). \nK2.0\, together with journalists from 10 media organizations\, has been monitoring the press conferences of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj\, President Hashim Thaçi\, the Presidency of the Assembly of Kosovo\, the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office. \nOver a period of five months we monitored 52 out of 62 formal press conferences held by these institutions. Eight of them were not open for questions. The topics of those press conferences without questions tackled a variety of sensitive issues\, from the past teacher’s strike to the 100% tax on Serbian products. \nIn the same period\, the same institutions addressed the public in more than 1\,000 Facebook posts through official pages alone. That means that for every press conference held\, there have been 16 posts on Facebook. \nFor decades\, press conferences have been a forum where politicians are exposed to unexpected questions in front of the media. They are a space where you can push for key answers\, ask follow ups\, expose a politician\, hold them to account in public and ask critical questions that often go unanswered in email or phone communication. \nThrough the monitoring work we have done\, and through talks with journalists\, we see how this tool of great importance is neglected not only by politicians\, but also by press officers in public institutions. This must change. \nOn Freedom of the Press Day\, May 3 at 13:00\, join us at the launch of “Jo Pyetje Pa Përgjigje\,” at K2.0 garden. Journalists\, media workers\, and those for whom we truly work\, citizens\, are all invited to take part in this event! \nWe will be joined by: \nBesa Luci — Editor in Chief at Kosovo 2.0\nTaulant Osmani — journalist at BIRN / member of the research team\nSaranda Ramaj — journalist at Koha / member of the research team\nKreshnik Gashi — investigative journalist / moderator at Drejtësia në Kosovë \nThe discussion will be moderated by Aurela Kadriu\, author of the research \nAlbanian/English translation will be available. \nThis event is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
