Money

The euro (€, divided in 100 cents) is the official currency of Kosovo. Euro banknotes come in denominations of €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500. The coins, whose design depends on which country they were minted in, come in denominations of €0.01, €0.02, €0.05, €0.10, €0.20, €0.50, €1 and €2. Cash is mostly used in Kosovo, though an increasing number of shops and restaurants are using POS.

Banks & ATMs

Most commercial banks have ATMs across Kosovo that can be used with international debit and credit cards. Usually ATMs are not hard to find. Visa and MasterCard are mostly accepted. Diners Club and American Express are not generally accepted.

Changing money & exchange rates

Bringing money to Kosovo

If you are travelling to or from Kosovo, you will need to declare to Kosovo Customs any amount of cash exceeding 10,000 Euro or the equivalent in another currency
