American Corner Pristina dhe Kino ARMATA, hapësira publike në Prishtinë që promovon kulturë alternative dhe dialog shoqëror, kanë kënaqësinë të njoftojnë për bashkëpunimin përmes së cilit do të shfaqen disa prej punëve më të rëndësishme dhe relevante të autorëve amerikan para publikut të Prishtinës dhe Kosovës. Në kuptim si akademik ashtu edhe joformal, 101 përcakton faktet bazike të lidhura me një fushë ose çështje të caktuar. Gjatë 101, ARMATA shndërrohet në fushë mësimi për fillestarë dhe entuziastë, duke ofruar këndvështrim të freskët mbi disa prej filmave dhe autorëve më me ndikim të kohës sonë.

I lindur në New York në 1942, Martin Scorcese është i njohur për stilin e tij të errët dhe studioz filmik, duke u konsideruar si njëri prej regjisorëve më të rëndësishëm të të gjitha kohërave. Pasioni i Scorcese për film filloi në moshë të re, kur shquhej si një filmaxhi i shkurtë dhe simpatik 8-vjeçar. Në vitin 1968, ai përfundoi filmin e tij të parë të gjatë Who’s That Knocking at My Door?, por u bë i famshëm gati 10 vite më vonë pas daljes së Taxi Driver, film i cili e bëri të njohur formulën e tij bazike të rrëfimit. This project is supported by the U.S. Embassy Pristina, Kosovo.

Films from the ‘Scorcese 101′ series, directed by Martin Scorcese, will be screened at Kino ARMATA on 17, 18 and 20 December 2018 and include:

In both academic and colloquial terms, 101 denotes the elementary or basic facts associated with the field or subject specified. During 101, ARMATA becomes a learning ground for the novices and enthusiasts alike, offering fresh insight into some of the most influential movies and filmmakers of our era.

Born in New York in 1942, Martin Scorsese is known for his gritty, meticulous filmmaking style and is widely considered one of the most important directors of all time. Scorsese’s passion for films started at a young age, as he was an 8-year-old, pint-sized filmmaker. In 1968, he completed his first feature-length film, Who’s That Knocking at My Door?, but it wasn’t until he released Taxi Driver nearly 10 years later that he skyrocketed to fame for his raw formula of storytelling. He proved that the film wasn’t a fluke with a lengthy string of successes that included Raging Bull, Goodfellas and The Departed.

All films will be screened in English language and the entrance is free of charge. Kino ARMATA is supported by Prishtina Municipality and located at Brigada e Kosovës St., behind the amphitheater at the Zahir Pajaziti Square.
